One common question we always address is how long will it take to build my website?
We view website design and development as a collaborative process between us (as the contracted professional) and you (as the business owner). You are buying a product and service. The hours of coding and graphic development is a product that is created for you. The service is our expertise of development, customer service and creative marketing ideas.
Building the website (programming and graphics) is only a small part of the process. We need to talk, talk , talk …..to first determine what you need, present ideas, establish if there is a cohesive marketing plan, investigate technical compatibility with hosting/ email. There is no point just slapping up any old website, no matter how nice, if we have not done our homework. Our job is to work with you to develop the best course of action to market your business/group.
We look at your competitions’ website, we look at industry sites, we may do keyword analysis, we discuss new ideas, design and functionality that may help you. When you put a tight time frame on your development, you negate all these processes.
A realistic time frame is 1.5 months for design and development as long as there are no delays in content creation. Larger projects or custom programming will take longer.
We handle many projects at a time however, from time to time your web designer may have a backlog and a waiting list. We don’t rush projects unnecessarily and want to offer each client our dedicated attention. This is a common occurrence so best practice is get a quote and book your project (contract and deposit) 2-3 months ahead of time.
